Happenings and Current Events
Our Thrift Store has
relocated! This event would not be made possible if it were not for the generous contribution of the Kenneth Smith Estate, which allowed us to purchase this building. We now will be able to operate our store with limited overhead, allowing us to direct more funds to those who need it most. Our shelter residents! We also want to offer our deepest regards and appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reynolds of Kimberling City. Who donated the 2nd building directly across the street from our new Thrift Store, which will provide us with greater floor space. So we may now display the larger items such as furniture and appliances. Thank you is not words enough for your generosity. This will be put to a very good use and will be an added asset to the shelter for the years to come.

Thank you to the Cape Fair Eagles Lodge! On June 25th the Eagles Lodge in Cape Fair hosted a benefit dinner for the shelter and raised a grand total of $1,100.00! And what a wonderful way to spend an evening..... Fried Catfish, Mountain Oysters, hush puppies, spaghetti, German & American potato salads & cole slaw with a wonderful variety of desserts were on the menu. We then had the 50/50 drawing which was won by some California visitors and netted the shelter $167.00. To top off the evening there was great entertainment provided by Robin Barr & Friends who played mostly 50's, 60's & 70's music. A big thank
you to the hard workers, who prepared, cooked and cleaned up! We
enjoyed it thoroughly and it certainly helps keep the animal shelter
doors open. |

A Big Thank you to Journagan Construction Aggregates! 102 Washboard Hollow Road is not quite such a "washboard" due to the generosity of Journagan Construction Aggregates. They generously donated new gravel & sent out a big road grader and smoothed out all the washboards.

A Big Thank you to Laura Morningstar of "Mama Star's Canine Cookies"! Laura bakes Canine Cookies and sells them by the bag for $2.50 each. She then donates .50¢ for each bag sold to benefit the animal shelter. "When they beg for more call (417) 538-1025. Guaranteed 'not' to last."
